Hmm... I still haven't figured it out.
I have installed TinyContent and EditO now and have the same problems as with all the other modules I have tried.
And I wonder, whether my problem has become clear, as this forum 'swallowed' some space characters in my first post (which I have corrected now)
I want a static page linked from the root-level of the main-menu. But all Modules create a root-entry named after the module and further sub-entries for each content page.
This may make sense, if I want to create a section e.g. "Articles" and list a number of pages in this section. Then I could rename the menu-entry of the module to "Articles" and would have a menu like:
- Home
- Articles
--- Name of Article 1
--- Name of Article 2
- Forum
...
In most modules I have tried, I can select, wheter I want menu-entries or not. But these entries (if activated) always appear as sub-entries of the module itself. And if I deactivate the menu-entry of the module, consequently all sub-entries are hidden, too...
