I'm new to XOOPS, have the basic installation up on:
Operating SYS Linux
Kernel version 2.6.9-34.EL
Machine Type i686
Apache version 1.3.36 (Unix)
PHP version 4.4.2
MySQL version 4.1.19-standard
This site was put up for my wife & daughter, which is:
http://www.storerunners.com/Until I figure out what I need to do the XOOPS is at the following location:
http://www.storerunners.com/xoopscms/The plan is to have the two of them be able to put up and change content, without feeding me each and every bit of information, but have me in the wings to supply the framework, etc.
Initially they just wanted a few static informational pages, but when got talking about the possibility of their clients keeping shopping lists online and scheduling deliveries, it seemed like this package could fit the bill.
At this point, and after reading a ton of DOC, I can't figure out how to create a simple static type page at say:
http://www.storerunners.com/HTML/That could be a jumping off place where casual visitors could read about services without making a committment to become a registered user nor be bothered by additional information yet at that point.
I was figuring that the Welcome Page of the site, would click into the /HTML/ portions until they wanted to become a registered user then get to /xoopscms/
Am I on the right track here ?
- Thanks & take care M.D.
