How to remove all smilies?

Hiya
I'm hoping someone can point me to where or how I can disable all use of smilies througout XOOPS and any modules it uses (currently only using News).

When a user comes to a text area (comments, signatures, submitting news, edit user info) I'd like the smilies and the [more...] text to not show ever.

How can this be done please?

If you're using 2.0, go to your admin section and click on the System module. You'll be redirected to a page with a list of options. One of them is for smilies.

If you have a 2.2 site, head to your admin section. There is a link on the horizontal menu called Misc. Tools. Click on it. One of the choices on the dropdown menu is for Smilies.

lol Can't believe I didn't notice that. Managed to find all sorts of things to tweek but smilies... Now I feel silly.

Thanks a million!!

However... that doesn't get rid of the [more...] under text areas (for editing, comments, etc). Any idea how to get rid of that one?

Have Disable Comments in the admin/modules/news/preferences?

Or you could also deselect it in the modules dropdown of the admin/system/comments. One of these might get rid of it for you.

Thanks for the reply :)

Comments are not turned on. And smilies are disabled. However, the [more..] still appears for any posting, like in submitting news or posting for a forum. I still cannot find where it is coded at :(

include/xoopscodes.php
or in the
xoopsform/formdhtmltextarea.php

there should be a line which start like this
<a href='#moresmiley' .............
you either remove it or slash it twice ///infront.
