Is it possible to, if so how
->Add custom blocks to an existing module

I tried to create a custom block, copying another default block... but it didnt work. I assume because my block does not have a module assigned to it. How do I assign a block to

After creating your custom block did you make it Visible? And visible on the specific page or Module you want it to be viewed on? Also, did you go to your admin/system/groups and make sure the block is accessible to the groups you want to have access to it?

there is a section on blocks in the XOOPS user manual available from the documentation website.

I was looking to put variables into blocks... I did not figure out how to do it, but I did find a workaround.

As far as I know(and dat ain't much) there is no problem with using variables in a custom block. Just make sure you submit it with the write file type from the pull down. HTML or PHP.

Also, in the module repository are some blocks under USEFULL BLOCKS. You could maybe download a few of them and have a look see how they did them.
