x2-asian.com

i love it when people reply so swiftly.

the link to the layout page is:
x2-asian.com/mylayout.php but that only works if you're logged in.

Looks like all the related pages from www.x2-asian.com/memberlist.php and related have been specially programmed. Nicely done, but it looks like its custom work for the site.

Very clever work using the frameset - even though i'm not a fan of frames.

wow that's pretty amazing.

but too bad that nobody has made such modules public yet for xoops. kind of sad, cause that site has been that way for over a year i believe. and just recently the first userpage customization module was released. how come none of the hackers here went public with this kind of work? or even went into that direction of making user's profiles something more to look at?

this certainly ruined my day. i guess XOOPS isn't for me then. which sucks because i really like the simplicity of the software and how everything works so nicely.

I must confess not to actaully installing it, but XOOPS 2.2 has the Extended Profiles module, which I thought allowed more customisation of user profiles. If you've not seen it yourself perhaps you should try that before leaving Xoops. See if ti suits your needs.

Have you asked the owner of the site if he will provide the customised code to you? It's worth doing....

And as Ted says, some of this facility can be done with 2.2 - although i'd suggest waiting till 2.4 unless you really need it.

i really do need it. well i guess it cant hurt to simply ask, although if it's customized code i doubt he'll share it.

i'll also give x2.2 a shot, and see how much i can do profile wise on there.

A lot of the time people won't release a module or hack, because it's something messy they have done for there own site, and don't have the resources to turn it into something stable that'll work on every bodies site. But 8 times of of 10 if you ask the webmaster they'll give you the code.
