Are you still getting the error messages when posting in the forums ?

Okay, sounds hopeful.

If you still do get the errors, I see someone else had to 'back out' the auto login hack, see the post here , so making sure any mods done for that hack have been removed, may be needed, if you do still get the errors.

Low and behold this is still UNSOLVED. Currently it is taking alot of users (plus myself) between 15 and 30 attempts of hitting the submit button until it actually posts the message.

My webstats are now in theory DEAD as users are not willing to come to my site due to not being able to post in the usually quick ONE CLICK SUBMIT way.

Help is drastically needed or I may have to pull the plug on my whole site.

Have you had a look through all the results from this search:

exceeded session time

using the advanced search feature, and check all the boxes. There is quite a bit there, and links from some posts.

In this post, 'davidl2' asked about caching, .. but no reply. What happened with taht side of things ?

Peterr, I must admit I have not looked into caching but could possibly need some help on looking into that...

get some kind of MySQL frontend (example using phpmyadmin, but use whatever) ... open your database, find and choose the yourprefix_sessions table, (you should see it listed up top now) click operations, click repair table.

might as well check all the tables that start with yourprefix_bb_ while you're at it... just choose the table (on the left) & if you see red in the space usage block on the right side repair that table also.

Wheeeeee.....

Thanks tripmon, I am using phpmyadmin but cant see any option for repair. I select the database the put a tick next to xoops_sessions and then hit Operations from the top right but that takes me to a page that has no repair option....

hmmm... I get:
Table maintenance

* Check table Documentation
* Analyze table Documentation
* Repair table Documentation
* Optimize table Documentation
* Flush the table ("FLUSH") Documentation

may be your version of phpma, you can try optimize (if you see it (on the structure or options tab once you have sessions selected)) or just make sure no one is logged into the site and empty the sessions table (don't empty the _bb_ tables though... choose optimize for them)

Ok please ignore the above.. I have found what you meant.

I have clicked repair table and then get taken to another screen with Msg Type = status and Msg Text = OK

Am I right in saying it has done the repair?

yep, did you see some ugly red (overhead) in the right pane when you clicked the table?
