Can't seem to put content into a custom block. The block shows up fine in every page I indicate it to show up in but non of the content does, just the title. Neither HTML or PHP works. I am using a custom theme from this site. How do I get this to work properly?
Does this have something to do with the standard template?

If you add the tags
<html> </html>

or
<?php ?>

The block dont work.

You must add only code without the tags.

Did not add ANY tags. Only plain text just to see what it would look like. Nothing, only title. Updated all modules including system.

I appreciate you reply but this IS a newbie section which usually means people may not be familiar with all aspects of the program. So, if you could be a little more specific in your help, I would appreciate it!

Do you mean that I should find a folder with that doc in it ( via ftp)and throw it away so the program can rebuild it, as some programs do?

Do you mean that the admin program can remove and rebuild that particular file? Where would I find that file. Which folder. Is it in the MySQL database or in the XOOPS folder?

This answer is just not specific enough for THIS newbie, sorry!

AlexSolo, yes there is a directory that XOOPS creates called templates_c. Delete the contents of that folder and new templates will be created when you load the site up again in your browser.

Tried to use fetch to trash forst the items in the folder- when that failed- then the whole folder- that also failed. Fetch said:Fetch could not delete "templates_c because the FTP Server says that the requested item wasnot a folder or could not be accessed.

Not sure what do you mean try to trash fetch but if you connect through ftp client try using FileZilla (or other ftp client) connect to your xoopsroot/templates_c/ folder and remove all files from there. Do not remove templates_c folder, if you do just recreate it.

You can try in systemadmin side to go to system setup general settings and check to to renew templates from templates directory. This will force to rebuild templates.

Well, was not able to throw away any files with ANY ftp program I have so I used the ensim control panel that is on my server and was able to throw away all the files in the directory templates-c. Then I logged into the site as admin and went to preferences and reset them. Updated the system module just to make sure. Still only the title shows up in "Test Block". Site is superlists.net/xoops/
