Admin cannot change user's email address

I've posted a bug report with a fix here: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1366684&group_id=41586&atid=430840

Am I correct about that being a bug? If so, does my fix look reasonable?

I can at least confirm this bug. I had to go into myPhpAdmin and change the email address for one of my users manually.

In my /modules/profile/admin/user.php
those lines you say need to be uncommented are already uncommented, and I still can't change the email address of a user.

I am running 2.2.4.

i have not this problem.
can chage email address for all users in edit:
modules/profile/admin/user.php?op=edit&id=????

xoops 2.2.4
number of users: +5000

I also don't see this problem. I can change email address via the admin/modules/extended profiles/users menu.

Here is what I do. I am running XOOPS 2.2.4.

I log in as admin and go to the admin section.

Then I go into the user menu and select find user. In the first form field (User name) i type in the name of one of my users and click submit.

On the next page the user shows up as the only one on the list. I click the "Edit profile" button.

I get an overview of the user profile and now I fill in a new email address. Then I click save changes.

I get a temporary page which says "Your profile updated" (bad grammar btw..). I am then returned to modules/profile/admin/user.php

I then repeat my steps to see if the change was made, and it is still the same as it was before.

Well, I just tried going via admin/users/find users, found a user, clicked edit profile, and was able to successfully change the email address that user there too.

I am not sure what the difference in behavior could be due to.

BTW, just to be sure, have you tried clearing your templates_c filder and clearing the cache of your browser. I don't have to do that myself to show the changed email, but it might be worth a try.

I will try to contact the site admin on getting templates_c cleared. They belong to www-data, so I can't delete them myself. I am pretty sure browser caching isn't a problem. I have tried it on different browsers on different computers.

I do the exact steps as you, and I get the same results as you. I'm also using 2.2.4.
