Re: Oracle compatibility

Right now XOOPS only uses MySQL for database support. There are plans (as I understand) to add a method in future XOOPS versions that should allow compatibility with other databases.

à future version of XOOPS (2.5/2.6,perhaps, or XOOPS4) will use the new PHP 5.1 native PDO feature, which is a PHP native database abstraction layer that includes MySQL and Oracle databases (among others).

Skalpa has added PDO to 2.30 alpha 2, you can check it from SVN

Then, will XOOPS include the data porting between database from MySQL to PDO or Oracle and vice versa?

definately not in the first alpha's and beta's. Firth thing is to get XOOPS fully working with these databases.
