Currently I'm using XOOPS 2.2.3 and NewBB 1.0 not the ideal combination.
When I try to directly upgrade to CBB (overwriting files, update module, reset templates) I can no longer see any of my forums. But I can see categories.
When I trie to upgrade by running a NewwBB1 > NewBB2 upgrade script and then overwrite files, update module and reset templates I've got my forums back. Looks like solved but it isn't.
When trying to open a forum the next message appears (all permissions are set correctly):

Quote:
An Error Occured
SELECT t.*, p.post_time as last_post_time, p.poster_name as last_poster_name, p.icon, p.post_id, p.uid, p.post_karma, p.require_reply, pt.post_text FROM xoops_bb_topics t LEFT JOIN xoops_bb_posts p ON p.post_id = t.topic_last_post_id LEFT JOIN xoops_bb_posts_text pt ON pt.post_id = t.topic_last_post_id WHERE (p.post_time > 1128291194 OR t.topic_sticky=1) AND t.forum_id = 1 AND t.approved = 1 AND p.approved = 1 ORDER BY t.topic_sticky DESC, p.post_time DESC

Hopefully anyone has exprienced the same and knows a workaround.

Cheers,

Bob

I don't know if this is of any help to you but I upgraded from Newbb Pro (based on Newbb 1) and I had to first ugrade to Newbb 2 and then to CBB. Direct upgrade from Newbb Pro to CBBdidn't work at all. Now CBB seems to work just fine except for the date format that looks something like this:

_2006EthCETERTueAM2006

I also have huge problems with XOOPS 2.2.3 but that's a different story...

Good luck to you!

Nobody had any problems upgrading, or nobody found a solution? Whow, that would be something...

I've asked and read about this several places. No one has an answer on how to upgrade to CBB and have your posts and forums work??? Very very frustrating......

Xoops 2.2.3
NewBB -> CBB 2.32

Someone answer this please.

I've tried (with backing up!)
deleting old module and installing
clearing browser cache
set all permissions one by one by hand

three times. Still nothing. It says you have all your old posts etc but you can get to them.

I've seen a few other posts about this so I know I'm not alone here... has everyone just given up and downgraded? I mean no one knows what to do, is sort of hard to believe. Sorry to be a bother but I really need a updated and WORKING forum.

Try this, first upgrade to CBB 1.16 using the included upgrade script "newbb1_to_newbb2.php, set all permissions in the categories and forums, once all is visible (still may not work quite right as CBB 1.16 is not compatible with 2.2.3) do a direct upgrade to CBB 2.32.

Make sure you create backups first of course.

HTH.
