How to stick news stories on the home page...

I'm a bit new to XOOPS but I've figured out everything except...is there a way I can keep 2 or 3 news stories at the top of the home page and have everything get entered below them?

yep, you would go into your blocks section, set a few news blocks to visible and set their weight to 1,2,3... or you may use weight by tens... whatever the case.

Anyway hit submit once you have the blocks positioned where you want them.

Now every block that you just made visible needs to be set to display the appropriatte news. to do this you click edit.

I recommended using the latest version of the news module which you can find HERE

also... be sure to go into your groups section and allow the groups you want to see these blocks the adequate permissions.

From your admin section Blocks-->List All Blocks

Once the new page opens, you'll see a drop-down menu box with all of the blocks from your installed modules.

Choose "Recent News" from the list. Click the "Add" button. You'll be redirected to a new page with different options for the block's placement, position (weight), whether or not it's visible, what pages to display it on, and a few other option.

It's important to pick the topics that you want displayed in the block, or nothing will appear.

is there no way to automate the process, so that all the latest news gets added to the homepage in the same way it is displayed on the news page?
