This should help:

How To Position Blocks
https://xoops.org/modules/smartfaq/faq.php?faqid=76

How do I set permissions and make blocks and module visible?
https://xoops.org/modules/smartfaq/faq.php?faqid=77

Basically, once you're in the Blocks admin section, you can decide what page or pages each individual block appears on.

I hope you know that if you hold down the ctrl key you can select more than one module.

I didn't find a response in those FAQs !

My question was how can i set a module to be displayed with 2 columns or just left column (as the "FlashMx" module)

I hope to be clear,

You go into Blocks Administration

You edit each block for your left and right columns by choosing what modules you want them to appear in. You can choose multiple modules by holding down the ctrl key on your computer's keyboard (cmd if you are using a Mac.)

You can either edit one at a time by choosing the "Edit" link located to the right of all of your blocks, or you can just scroll down the list on the Blocks Administration page and choose the way you want your blocks to appear from there.

I'm not talking about displaying each block, it's about displaying left or right column.

Give me a discription how did the "Flash Mx" is shown with just one left column

Maybe I'm not understanding properly. But it kind of seems that it works the same way without having to add a bunch of code. If you have nothing displayed in the blocks on a page, that column disappears. So I would set the blocks not to appear on those pages, leaving me without any columns. Gotta go now; my diaper needs changing.

Are you sure that this's possible with the blocks admin ?

I think you are talking about the content menu. The one that by default displays on the left side of the menu. You probably want to divy the module links between the two sides of your page. So that your forums link may be on the left side of the page... but your news link is on the right. Correct?

If this is the case you want to use a module like tinycontent, which allows you to create external links and display them in your menu. In that case you would set the left menu up with the default. The links that you do not want to display will be set to "0" in the modules section. Now use the menu block that comes with tinycontent for the right side and set the links you do not want to display to "0" This module also allows you to add custom links. so if you want to link to a very specific section and have that link display nicely within your menu you can.

Hope this rambling helps.
