You don't have to CHMOD anything, I think. Just rename the sub-directory XOOPS2_mod_AMS_2.41 to AMS in your modules directory. Other wise it will not work.

I'm not talking about AMS, I'm talking about everything else. Like WFLinks, Multimenu and others.

Poslanik, you don't have to chmod anything inside your '/modules' directory.

Often there is a readme file that will state which specific files need to chmod. Normally, at least in my experience, this is not necessary on most modules.

There ain't no readme file :( That's why I'm asking... It is likely the free hoster fu***d something up.
