I was just seeing that these forums don't compress the replies.

I have been trying how to figure out how to do this for awhile now.

When I post a new thread and I get a reply it compress's it

I want to be able to scroll down the page and read all the replies like here on xoops. Is there a way I can set this up?

If you want to see what I am taking about my website is http://gasperinofamily.com

I am also having the same problem in the gallery section if someone comments on the pic it compress's it and you have to click on the reply to read the comment. Any way to fix that in the gallery as well?

Are you refering to the way the forum is viewed? ie: Flat threaded, nested etc.etc.?
If so experiment with these options to find the one you like and then select as sitewide option in the admin.

but uhm, im not sure if thats what you be talking about!

Ok, I see what you are talking about now, but how do I set it to site wide? Right now the forums are showing up as flat, but when I change it to like nested under the system admin/general setting to nested it does not change the forums.

Thanks again for the help!

I believe what you need to do is visit the the admin section for your Newbb2 module, and go into "Module Preferences".

There should be an option named "View Mode of the Threads" or something very similarly name. You have the option to select view mode as None, Flat, Threaded and Compact. I believe either Threaded or Compact is what you're trying to achieve.

Hope this helps.

I am using forum verson 1 it does not have any option like that. I have those option in the system admin/general setting. But they do not seem to change the setting of the forums or gallery.

The setting in admin prefs will only affect all users that registered later than the date you changed it (probably today).

In the users profile there is a setting for this too and if the user didn´t change it himself it will still be "threaded".

As mentioned: If you move to newbb2 you can circumenvent this by the forums settings. However it will not affect the comment system.
