I've been testing using php 4.3.11 and 4.3.3 I'm happy to report that the only issues I've encountered are due to my own mistakes

I'll be playing with it on my XAMPP install with Apache 2.0.54, MySQL 4.1.14, PHP 5.0.5 & 4.4.0 .

I will look at the User admin aspects, creating, modifying users.

almost everything should be tested (and Jan and I couldn't possibly do this).

Apart from the 2.2.2 bugfixes, we tried to fix the new notices concerning references that appeared with PHP 4.4 and 5.1.0. The problem is that references are over (and wrongly) used throughout all the core (and specially in the XoopsObject / XoopsObjectHandler based classes). Thus, fixing this required modifications on almost every file in the kernel/ folder (which means: users, membership, module, config, comments...)

hello all,

i received by PM some tests results. Main "pb" is that our forum is private. Some are willing to help, but don't know where to post their work. I think we have to think and decide about that...

here are their posts by pm

testing of 223 snapshot

Hi, marco!

I've tested on several platforms:

with apache and
- php4.3 and php4.4 on linux and windows server
- php5.04 on windows server

and performed a clear installation and also updates from 2.2.1 and 2.2.2:

- only selfdeleting of user failed
- block caching isn't running and is fixed by mith.

I hope this can be a little helpful for all.

chris

thanks guys
As skalpa's said, several areas have been strongly modified to manage better "references" (>=4.4php)
We have to investigate those areas more.

so far so good

Sorry, I have to write a PM since I don't have permission to write on the beta test forum.

Xoops 2.2.3 works with

PHP 4.4.0 with Hardening-Patch 0.3.2 (cli) (built: Jul 29 2005 02:02:15)
Copyright (c) 1997-2004 The PHP Group
Zend Engine v1.3.0, Copyright (c) 1998-2004 Zend Technologies

I had some trouble in sending emails to registered users, but it maybe a php.ini fault. I will investigate further

hum, seems it's time to release officially RC2.

I have no objections to this forum being public and open, but we'll need a moderator on this specific forum if we do (to move posts that are support requests etc.)

I will do my best to help out. I receive notifications for new posts in the Beta Testing forums, so it won't be a problem keeping tabs on it.

If all agree, I say, the more heads testing, the better.

Best Regards,

James
