Please excuse my ignorance I’m a new XOOPS user.

My question is that would it be possible to create other blocks instead of the Center Center, Center Left, Center Right blocks. Would it be at all possible to make a Center Lower Left block?

I’m aware of the block weight system in XOOPS but what I’m looking to do is to have unique blocks with individual images. Any information on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You.

You asked two questions:
1. How to have more than 5 standard block-placement location?
and
2. How to have block with different from others design?

yes?! If I'm correct, answers are

1. You have to change header.php in order to add new placements, hack from Happy Linux
2. There are a lot of ways (using smarty-functions, variables and logic operands), my last iteration was in this thread

thanks Dean for the reply.

I can weight the blocks but it's just that the blocks would all look the same. So I was wondering if there was a way to have more than 2 blocks with a different Icon on the corner of each block. I know Right and Left are different blocks so I can edit that in the theme.html to have an individual image for each of those blocks.

The problem starts when I want a third block with a different Icon, right now it just assumes the same icon that's on the left or right center.

Thank you

I know that there are some themes that use different specifications for individual blocks in all columns.

One example is the color_custom theme:
https://xoops.org/modules/library/singlefile.php?cid=1&lid=26

Others are the Penquin theme:
https://xoops.org/modules/library/singlefile.php?cid=1&lid=171

And the RM Forum theme, which doesn't seem to be in the Themes Library anymore.

What I would suggest is that you go to the XOOPS Themes Library, take a look at the themes and see if you can find one or two that create the effect that you want. Then just download them from the main XOOPS site and take a look at the theme.html and style.css files to see how they accomplished it.
