Upgrade from 2.0.9.3 to 2.2.2

Hello all

My XOOPS website is currently running 2.0.9.3

What would be the correct upgrade path to the latest version?

Can I install the new upgrade straight over the top or do I need to install each upgrade in sequence, so go to 2.0.10, then 2.2 then 2.2.1, etc.

Has anyone experiened any problems with modules when upgrading, are there any issues to be aware of?

Thankyou for your assistance.

Jonathan

**DO NOT UPGRADE TO 2.2.x ... yet...!**

I would recommend upgrading to 2.0.13.1 only... and waiting a little longer before updating to 2.2.x

And please follow the advice in my sig

davidl2, your sig gives excellent advice

Also, Shine you are absolutely correct. Please accept my apologies for not using the search.

Many thanks,

2.2.2 is pre-RC (Release Candidate)

So it's pretty sure that there are several bugs and it's not recommended to use it on a productive site...

The entire 2.2.x branch is RC at this point. The 2.0.x branch is the stable branch.

If you're just starting to use XOOPS, I'd recommend moving back to 2.0.13.1. I'm currently using 2.2.3RC1 and, yes, there are several bugs. The site is working fine, but when you start adding a lot of modules and customizations, the bugs come to the surface real quick.

If you've already got a significant amount of content on your site, then just hold tight. The Core Team is working really hard on getting the 2.2.x branch stable and many module developers are working very hard on making their modules compatible with the 2.2.x branch.

Best Regards,

James

If like prophecy100 you already have a site.. i would advise only going as far as 2.0.13.1 for now...

...Upgrade later on when issues have been dealt with.
