Gurus,

I am setting up a community portal and need to place news headlines, weather, upcoming events along with other links on the home page. Is there a module already out there for this?

Also, what is the best module for classified ads and realty listings?

I tried to customize the XOOPS pages but could not get far as I am new to this. Is there any beginner tutorial out there on how to customize the modules?

Have you tried the search function on this website? Some modules will turn up.

Shine, thanks for your quick reply. Actually I am past the dummies phase as I have installed all the modules and customized it as much as possible using the 'admin' feature. But I would like to change the 'look & feel' of the site and make other changes, so I tired modifying the code a bit (templetes etc.) but could not make much progress.

A quick question, I am setting up this community portal for the US geographical region. From the home page the user will click there own city which will take them to their city main page which will have it's own local news, weather, community news etc. So, for this purpose I need to have multiple main/home pages for each city.

Can someone advice me on what will be the best way to do this? Thank you.
