I'm new to XOOPS and still getting it ready to replace my current site. I have a few questions about the forums:

1) Where can I find the images used by this forum for new posts, i.e. The ones that come with the XOOPS Installation are bulky and don't look good (the XOOPS x).

2) What is the difference between NewBB and CBB? I'm a little confused and not sure which one I'm running.

Thanks in advance.

Check out this link link.
That site is using NewBB 2.0 version 2.1

I'm not sure what's the difference between NewBB and CBB. If it's the stock forum then I think its newbb but I could be wrong. I upgraded to to NewBB which you can find here.

Phppp is one of the two main programmers of newbb2 - and is the main programmer on cbb... so cbb can be seen as a direct replacement as newbb.

Still a little confused about newbb and cbb. Which one is this site running on? What's the difference between the two?

this site currently is running newbb2.. but will be changing to CBB on the next site upgrade.

it is recommended you use CBB as it is actively supported and maintained.

if you want to compare the two.. use this site for newbb2, and try http://cbb.getituponline.com to see CBB in action.. there are quite a few differences..

difference between 2: cbb replaces newbb, so cbb is the latest version.

version xoops.org uses: newbb at the moment - cbb in the near future.
