 Re: newBB 2

I can't seem to be able to edit rights to forums, after the forum has been created. Rights function properly, if given upon creation.

But this page
/modules/newbb/admin/admin_forum_manager.php?op=mod&forum=2

Does not seem to show any edit functionality! Just a blank screen with borders.

Is there anything I am doing wrong?

Thanking you in advance for your input,

Robstg

Is anyone able to help? Is there another board we should be posting these types of issues to?

Any help would be greatly appreciated! By more than just me, apparently!

Isn't this old. Aren't we meant to be using CBB 3.08?

My site is running newBB 2... How hard would it be, if possible at all, to upgrade to CBB 3.08?

Very easy indeed.

Visit xoopsforge.com and download:

1. The CBB 3.08 module
2. The latest Frameworks (1.22 I think)
3. The latest xoopeditors (1.21 I think)

Then:

4. Upload Frameworks to xoops_root/Frameworks
5. Upload xoopseditors to xoops_root/class/xoopseditor

Then:

6. Delete the /modules/newbb directory from your server using your FTP client. DO NOT uninstall the module first.
7. Upload the CBB module into modules/newbb (CBB retains the "newbb" folder name!)

Then:

8. Login as admin and update the newbb module in Modules Admin.

You will then have a fully working CBB 3.08 installation and, because you didn't uninstall the module in step 6, all your forums and posts will be retained.

Several folks have done this without a problem.
