Hi,

As the timezone thing is new to XOOPS 2.2, news might not be 'timezone aware' yet?

Just an idea, as I haven't tested this (server and user is in same tz here...)

nah - the only change there is how the user's timezone is set.

But you should check if there is a wrong timezone setting in your user profile (this is under the assumption that you use XOOPS 2.2)

Sorry. I should have told that i am sticking with XOOPS 2.0.13.1.

Now let em explain. As i said my Web Server time zone is GMT -8. My time zone is GMT +5. But when i publich a ews at some day @ 5:00 am. It appears in news with time 8:00.
SO it is always adding + 13 differenc.

Regarding XOOPS settings. I tried different things and i always get some time difference. What i want is when i publish any news with my time zone. It should appear Exactly at that time.

In XOOPS prefrences i have this.

Server time zone = GMT -8
Default zone = GMT

And in my admin user profile. My time is GMT + 5.

Should i chage default time zone??? I tried it with GMT +5. But the error is alwasy there (although different).

Put this in a .php file and browse to it, to verify that the server's clock is really GMT-8:

<?php echo date('r'?>

Ahh, The suport team of my hosting company told me its PST (GMT -8)
But after using the above script.
It appears to be (GMT -7). And they confirmed it.

Now somebody told me what the settings should i have?
The time settings in my user account is ( GMT + 5)
No what should i have in Admin ->System->Prefrences

Re: Time Zone Settings

I always have winer time as base timezone on my sites - daylight shifting leave to handle OS... and have correct time for events... always...
From other side, BIOS-time configured to GMT and LINUX process ttimezone-settings at OS level. If you have shell-access, you can try "date" and see (show) results
