Is there a way to have the first page people see be the login page?
Idealy I would like to have it that unless the user is logged in they can't see any other pages. Is this also possible?

Well, you can possibly set the login block as a center block.
Or create a new block with the login HTML inside of it which POSTS to user.php.

Then you just need to set all other modules and blocks to not be accessible by Anonymous in the Groups.

Thats how I would do it anyway.
Maybe someone else has a better answer.

Thats a good way to go about it.

Alternatively you could go to System Admin > Preferences > General Settings and set "Turn your site off?" to "Yes", then on the same page select Registered Users and Webmasters as groups allowed to access the site while "off".

That way is even better, and you prolly want to edit the language and template for the site closed page as well.

Aha!
I was just going to ask something like this. You guys must be mind readers How would I dispay a splash image? I wanted to use a picture as my start page and login screen?

Yeah a splash screen would be nice.

When the site is "off" can new people register?
Ideally I would like registrations to be disabled also, but as Admin I would like the ability to create new users as needed.

I've tried to turn off the site, and I like the results but how do you create new user accounts?


Also is there a way to make it so that new user authorization isn't via email but rather by Admin control?
