In fact, what I changed was a .tpl file. I typed the incorrect extension in my post.

Thank you for the clarification and all of the help thus far. It is truly appreciated.

I made a change to the virtual path in the mainfile.php and the site was then stripped of its skin.

I have faith that eventually the situation will be resolved.

Any more suggestions people ;)

Life is good,

I thought this may be resolved in 2.2.1, however it appears after testing that it is still an issue.

I will have to implement my workaround again.

Many Thanks

Remember that there are two register.tpl .
1. modules\profile\language\english\mail_template and in
2. language\english\mail_template

Make sure you changed in both places.

Wow! I didn't realize there were two register.tpl files.

That did the trick.

Thanks so much Blue Eyes and Concepts and everyone else who took the time to help. It is greatly appreciated.

Many blessings.

We are aware of the problem with the relative XOOPS_URL causing problems in areas where the full URL is actually necessary, such as in email messages, tip-a-friend places etc.

We'll look into a solution for this.
