Thanks for the response.

To be more clear, we get an error when using the "list" function and selecting authors from the list of available authors.

From the administration side of things, users are given submission permissions, however, they do not show up in the drop down list automatically.

I appreciate all the help.

Thank you.

Prosper,

zerowan

issue specifying news authors

Currently I am using News 1.31

We are unable at the moment to add new authors to the drop down box so that the bi-line is accurate for various submitters. There is an error when we click "list" and attempt to add the name of a member to the author input area.

Any solutions out there?

Is this fixed in the upgrade?

Thanks for your help.

PEACE

Wow! I didn't realize there were two register.tpl files.

That did the trick.

Thanks so much Blue Eyes and Concepts and everyone else who took the time to help. It is greatly appreciated.

I am inspired by the assistance of "strangers" that have extended a hand.

Many blessings.

In fact, what I changed was a .tpl file. I typed the incorrect extension in my post.

Thank you for the clarification and all of the help thus far. It is truly appreciated.

I made a change to the virtual path in the mainfile.php and the site was then stripped of its skin.

I have faith that eventually the situation will be resolved.

Any more suggestions people ;)

Life is good,

zerowan

When I updated the register.rtf file both ways, adding the URL manually and by code, nothing changed. Even the text changes (altering the salutations) I made did not show up in the activation email that was generated.

What's going on?

Thanks for the help.

Hello. I have done the fix to the register.rtf file, however, the problem still occurs in the activation email.

When I check the register.rtf file on the server, it reflects the updates that I have made yet the email that is sent still has the exact same format as before the changes.

What is going on here? Please help. Thank you.
