I was told to put this code:
<{if $xoops_isuser}> <{$xoops_uname}>
into the theme.html file to show the username. Well I put it into the /themes/theme.html file and nothing showed up. Then I tried and put it into the /templates_c/%%33(*&^#342theme.html.php and it shows up as <{if $xoops_isuser}> <{$xoops_uname}> on the page and does not execute the code? Any suggestions? Thanks.

After adding the code to theme.html you need to turn on update themes and templates in sys prefs to see the changes on your site.

did that and the whole site got messed up - nothing showed up on the homepage so i had to restore from backup. thanks
