because it makes more fun to work with XOOPS for me.

having a basic understanding of html and stuff you can easily do what you want with XOOPS and use the power of a template engine not only to display content.

If I can add something

If U r a new commer then Managing XOOPS is just like doing ur daily work. But for Mambo U have to have some basic knowledge. So u need to spend more time with Mambo.

As for me, I just look for the specific module that meet my requirement. Then after installing it, just spend 2 hours. And there U go. U know everthing that u need to work with it.

And i dont know PHP or HTML AT ALL
I m not a Programmer
BUT
I m a Good Learner

And if you want opinion, the XOOPS community is incredibly helpful and friendly. And this particular aspect is worth any other.

I contemplated making a customer site in Mambo a while ago... I had little help from their community.

As someone who is not very technical, support is very important to me, so it was the deciding factor to make that site XOOPS only...

(I'll add the finished site to YAXS very soon... still working on it! )

I havent actually used Mambo but I can definitely say that the Dreamweaver extension for XOOPS is much more user friendly and functional than the extension available for Mambo. If you are planning to use Dreamweaver to edit/create your theme/template, the extension itself is a good enough reason to use XOOPS. In my very humble opinion, of course :)

Yeah, XOOPS looks so much more secure than Mambo.
But, keep this in mind.
XOOPS is much smaller than Mambo in terms of amount of people using it.

In terms of user amount, for world wilde, it is true.
However, if you know of Asian communnity, especially Japan and Taiwan area, you wouldn't say it. (They have tremendous support/promotion action which I think other communities should act also.)

XOOPS looks more secure, not because less hackers targetting it, but XOOPS is designed(architecture, not skin)/developed by talent developers and security has been XOOPS's first concern/effort.
