Looking for opinions on what the best articles module is. I was running xfsection and moved to Articles because I like it better. Wondering if there is another which is better still. Opinions?

There are some great modules out... I'd hate to totally recommend one over another (except WF-Sections, and that would be biased... if you check the sig )

[Mith] Looking for something which has

- a colapseable and expendable index list
- an alphabetical listing ability (like the repositories on Xoops.org)

I am looking for the best articles modules too. Is hard too choose. Wfsection have 1000 features that my client will never use, but the MySQL will. And don’t have a translation to Portuguese (a good translation). The original language files are confused too, like a bad translation. The Smartsection don´t have a translation too. I read about the compatibility of xfsection with XOOPS jp, and I will take a look. The site of my client will use XOOPS from here, but I´m using XOOPS jp in others. And compatibility is important to choose a module. I don’t want problems using a module that work with XOOPS jp now but not after the evolution of the system japanese.

Maybe the module ´Articles´ is THE BEST, because is simple and does the job, without make the site slow. I will try to find the developer and ask about the compatibility with XOOPS JAPAN, before use.
Best regards,

Àggelos.

You might want to consider AMS. I also had the same problem (not knowing whihc module to use) and I would advise you to try them and look for the features you want/may need in the future. For example WFsections seemed almost what i needed, but it didnt use the XOOPS notification system, which I consider that eventually I'd like to use. You may also try to ask the mod developers and see if a missing feature is likely to be added in the future (many modules dont seem to have a clear development plan, but its worth a shot). They may all look similar and basically do the same thing but I found there are many differences...

I'm sure if you ask at the JP-Xoops site, they can help you there.

This pack is fantastic, and a singular work.

But needs to be updated, don’t have some modules like smartsection and others...

And the translation of the wfsection is confused, was the worse Mikhail’s translation, I cannot use it. All others are perfect for me, but not the wfsection translation.
Best regards,

Àggelos.
