Problems with popups

I tried to install some themes. The main problem is that some of them (especially at newbb) does not "pop up" the popups and have them listed instead. As you can imagine it is horible scene. Any ideas?!

did you read the part in the instructions that said make sure <{$xoops_module_header}> is insterted between the head tags in your theme?
