I suppose there is a return_uname_from_id(5) to get the users with id 5 username. It can be easily done with a MySQL query but I thought if I can find it ready.

so the variable is $xoops_uname. your post was really usefull!

now I have to find a way to get the username from the id. It must be there a function!

I have a whole town wireless network working with local addresses and it seems difficult for me to use my internet's ip address. Anything else?

Which is the function which returns the username of an id?

And how can I get the username (or id) from a user looking a page? (want to make something like: hello "name")

Operating xoops in local network and in internet

I have installed XOOPS in server-pc my. I want to see it also from internet and locally. The problem therefore is found in Virtual Path. There I can put my local address (10.0.0.xxx) or no-ip address. In any case I might see site or locally, or in internet. I want to be possible to see XOOPS both ways. Any clever idea? (except proxies...)
