I am after a image gallery/manager that when files are uploaded, it automatically sets a standard width and then makes a thumbnail version and also leaves the original version on the server.

So in effect the end user has an option to view the thumbnail version, then view a 500px wide version, then be able to view the original sized image.

This might be a task in itself but i would also like to specify a specific image in the admin section to be the watermark for all images that are uploaded.

And it would be super good if opacity and location of the watermark would be great...

I have looked but it doesnt seem to have this yet...

Did you try one gallery before asking?

In fact almost all galleries rezise pictures and make thumbnails. Try also xcgallery, xoopsgallery

I have since discovered that myAlbum works well although is cluttered and not clean looking - will fix it somehow...

My next problem is that every image that gets uploaded is to have a watermark in the corner of every photo yet myAlbum, or any of the others that i tried could not do it. What options do i have to do this?

Regards,
Ivan

Not sure what you mean there? The watermark is in your digital picture I assume, so MyAlbum will just upload your digital picture file (that contains the watermark) and use it on your site (I would expect).

Are you asking whether MyAlbum can insert the watermark for you? If so, then no. I expect that a task like that is beyond the scope of a web application. You'll need PhotoShop and things like that for Watermarks.

http://www.freeimagebrowser.com/article2608.html (great tool !!)
http://www.pmnet.tk/ (german)
http://www.snapfiles.com/get/umarklite.html

Interesting, vBulletin can do it....

I want a watermark to be inserted whenever someone uploads an image, so that i can brand them.

I have found an php class script, phpothumb() that appears to do what i want, and intergrates with imageMagick.

The only problem is i dont know how this could be intergrated.

I believe that this should come with MyAlbum-p by default because it is a very handy tool to have....

Can anyone share some light with this?

I didn't realise watermarks insertions could be done by PHP. Impressive. You learn something new every day, especially at Xoops.org!

I would suggest you submit the idea to GIJOE at www.peak.ne.jp/xoops who develops MyAlbum (amongst others). Maybe he will add it to the next release?

xcgal 2.02 and gallery for XOOPS both will automatically watermark (I think). I second the advice from another poster that perhaps you should download the top 3 modules and try them all out and see what they can do.
