Mambo has been designed, and XOOPS has been programmed Basically that is what it boils down to. XOOPS is stable, flexible, easy to adapt to your wishes, but harder to manage then mambo. Mambo looks slick, is good at presenting content, but a b*tch to upgrade and customise.

There's some opinions in this thread.
A thread is for life. Not just for Christmas.

But XOOPS is still programmed?
I mean, where is Marko and Onokazu?
Best regards,

Marko went to Mambo and Onokazu started his own fork. Both of them had their own reasons, and we wish them well and good luck. They moved on and off. Other people, dedicated to XOOPS as an open community development project and high quality content management framework and portal system, have taken their vacant places This is a very natural process, XOOPS is not the Perfec System for Everyone, answering the Ultimate Need of All. People move and change focus and venue. What is important is that we have people who are generous enough to give their time, knowlegde, skills, energy and passion to this wonderful community in order to make XOOPS better.

A little reading on this site will show you that there is plenty of programming going on. For example XOOPS 4.0 and 2.1/2.2 development is in progress. Also the 2.0.x series are still under continuous development, as I am sure you will be able to see in the forum.

A natural process called entropy?

Well, good luck for all.
