hello, i tried to figure out how to add the news preview on the main page. i don't wanan set the news module as start page. i have a custom page and want to add a preview of the news, just like recent topics, recent comments. i don't think there's a block that comes with the news module. any help please? thank you

if you mean like xoops.org does.. then that's a module called spotlight.. i think that's what you mean anyway :)

yes like xoops.org.. spotlight is a whole module that i need to install and desactivate the News one?

Install the spotlight news module as you would any other module, and no you don't have to uninstall the standard news module.
