For some reason I seem unable to change the font and size of text in my website. My text displays like this:

some Courier textI think the problem is that the Smarty tags are not being read. Is there somewhere in the Admin module that I have to turn on Smarty tag support? I've had a look but don't see anything obvious.
Any pointers gratefully received.
