I just installed XOOPS 2.0.10.
I am using PHP 5.0.4, Apache 2.0.54, MySQL 4.1.7 and WindowsXP PRO.

The installation was just fine.
Just after the install I got the index.php with the "Login" and "Main Menu" without the links.
I turned on PHP_Debug and get this on the bottom of the page:

Warning [Xoops]: Smarty error: unable to read resource: "db:system_block_login.html" in file D:\producao\class\smarty\Smarty.class.php line 1084
Warning [Xoops]: Smarty error: unable to read resource: "db:system_block_mainmenu.html" in file D:\producao\class\smarty\Smarty.class.php line 1084

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Try updating the system module

make sure templates_c folder is writable (chmod 777)

Isn't strange why chmods should be suddenly lost while the installation was OK?

Another problem could be the FTP-programme crippling .html to .htm or maybe some files were corrupted during transfer.

I am installing it locally on my computer with WinXP Pro.

All the directories are writable.
