Hi Solo

Solo, what you think about to let those sizes freely configurable by the admin?

I?m telling you that cauz we have a lot of diferent movie/videos sizes and those sizes, sometimes interfere on movie performance.

For instance supposing that we have a pretty normal video size 320X240 and we change the movie window to.....318x237 we can expect some performance degradation.

Anyway this is anly a humple opinion

Good developing

Yes, that's a good idea...

But I must first test that new config.

I'm trying to get something like the following, please let me know if it can be done with Mymedia:-

Main Index Page
Resized Image

Media Category Index Page
Resized Image

Selected Media Page
Resized Image

This page needs a tell a friend box, because this module is to create sticky content.

Is all this possible? If so how hard would it be to do?

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

P.S
Other things to consider adding would be a submit media page, and a vote out of ten and display score next to each media.

Submit media can be tricky if you have an upload limit :(

I've also noticed that the thumbnail images in the page list are all displaying that pages image, and not the individual images for each page listed :( ? They also reduce in size as they go down too. ie

media1 - medium logo
media2 - tiny logo
media3 - miniscule logo
media4 - no logo shown
media5 - no logo shown

all the same logo

Anyone know why?

Take a look at what I've been doing here:-

I like the direction you're going with the page formatting. Solo is aware of the thumbnail sizing issue, as well as the issue with not showing the media's image, but rather the section page image over and over. He said a while back that he would try to fix these shortly.

It appears that you are looking more for a similar type of layout and information that xcGal provides for pictures, but just for media as well.

there is another module similar to this one called smartmedia, which last I checked didn't support filetypes other than quicktime, but was on its way to giving you what you are looking for.

Thanks :)

It seems that this piece of code in content.php might be the cause
//Défini la largeur des logos
if ($artimage AND $xoopsModuleConfig['navlink_type'] == 'list' AND $xoopsModuleConfig['tags']){

$logo XOOPS_URL '/'$xoopsModuleConfig['sbuploaddir'] .'/'$artimage;

$image_size =      getimagesize("$logo");

$logo_width =    $image_size[0];

$logo_width $logo_width 3;
    if (
$xoopsModuleConfig['logo_width']) {

$xoopsModuleConfig['logo_width'] = $xoopsModuleConfig['logo_width']/3;
        if (
$xoopsModuleConfig['logo_width'] <= $logo_width) {

$logo_width " width='".$xoopsModuleConfig['logo_width']."'";
        } else {

$logo_width " width='".$logo_width."'";
        }
    }

$logo '.XOOPS_URL '/'$xoopsModuleConfig['sbuploaddir'] .'/'$myrow['artimage'].'" alt="'.$myts->makeTareaData4Show($subject).'" align="absmiddle"'.$logo_width.' />';
} else {

$logo '';
}

Seems to be reducing each image by a third each time as it's requested to repeat for each.

I've added the tell a friend and Now I'm half way through adding the ratings, but as I'm not a php coder in any way shape or form I'm struggling a little. But you can visit the link to my module above to keep track of how I'm doing :)

Hi,

I try to test mymedia but, strangely, the module does not show up.. (On the module installation page..)

Downloaded the module from wolf factory. It it called beta 1, but when I opened the readme file - refrences were made to "myMedia 2.3"..

Maybe I downloaded the file from the wrong place..?

Any ideas..?

Thanks!

Aharon

Re: [myMEDIA] Test my new media manager module

I like the tell a friend and the ratings. . . I don't know what happened to solo, but I think that I'm going to have to start working on this a bit myself too. I got rid of the 1/3 sizing problem just by deleting the /3 from those lines of code but now have to figure out how to get the right image to show up.

Sorry for the lateness on this project, but I got in trouble with my data hardrive last week, and as the problem is not fixed yet, I can work on this only at work (and as I'm quite busy at the moment the project is a little bit slowed down)...

However, I have solved the logo's reducing effect, and some other little bugs.

As for fredski project, I suggest you to have a look at SmartMedia, which indeedly would probably suits better you idea...

Anyway, if you did succeded to add some enhancement to the module, I would be very happy to include them in the core code. Just send it to me...

EDIT : Sorry, a bug prevent the correct installation of the module. It's corrected now : myMedia 1.0.3.
