Let me guess, you're working with XOOPS 2.1.1, an dyour server has PHP5 installed. Am I correct?

XOOPS 2.1.anything releases are Alpha releases, meant for public development (up untill version 2.1.5 I think), and public testing (from 2.1.5 to the final 2.1.9 version). This means that 2.1.anything is not intended for public websites and/or production environments. In fact, many things change daily, and it can be broken tomorrow, because it is still in active development. That is also why there is no official support for these versions yet. Only when it reaches the 2.2 version is it deemed stable and then we recommend people to upgrade their XOOPS 2.0.x websites to XOOPS 2.2

u could always do a search by using the excellent search function on this site.. (top right)

just type Call-time pass-by-reference has been deprecated into the search block and voila your answer will stare you in the face.. it's as easy as searching for a website on google..

i posted the solution to this about 8 times in different topics over the last couple of weeks..

altho it does actually tell you how to fix it in the error msg itself..

Quote:

If you would like to enable call-time pass-by-reference, you can set allow_call_time_pass_reference to true in your INI file.

in other words you need to enable it in php.ini or use .htaccess if you have no access to php.ini
