Hi all,

My host as changed from server1. to server2. would this change anything with xoops? I installed XOOPS through fantastico and at the mo` can't log back into anything, no site, no server no cpanel..

They say it will be back on withing 24 hours but I am wondering if the current version of XOOPS I have already installed will be affected in anyway?

Does anyone know?
please

If the physical path of the files has changed, you will have to update your site's mainfile.php

Likewise, if the MySQL server has changed location, this will have to be updated in mainfile.php

Look for this:

Quote:
Quote:

// XOOPS Physical Path
// Physical path to your main XOOPS directory WITHOUT trailing slash
define('XOOPS_ROOT_PATH', 'var/www/html/yourURL.com/yourxoopsfolder');

// XOOPS Virtual Path (URL)
// Virtual path to your main XOOPS directory WITHOUT trailing slash
define('XOOPS_URL', 'http://www.yourURL.com/yourxoopsfolder');

nope.. no good :( didn't work.

Thanks for your help anyway guys.
I just got a email from my host stating that the change over from server1 to server2 was 100% succesful, my host is seeing what the problem is.

If I can get XOOPS installed on this new server, wouldn't just copying everything apart from the mainfile.php from my old server over to the new one work?

As long as the database name, database user, database password is the same, the only change should be what I showed you in mainfil.php.

Now you may need to clear the template_c and cache folder as these files may still refer to your old path.

See this article for more: XOOPS Site Migration.
