Hi all,

I did search first but couldn't find the answer so, I will truy here.

I have a well developed site and although I only have 6 registered users I have the forum, news, polls, third-party modules and reviews etc... four blocks on my top(main) page and the Frozen Bubble game...

Question 1:
I am running on XOOPS 2.0.9.2 and would like to upgrade to version 2.1.1 will I loose any data I have (or my members) entered already?

Question 2:
Is it really worth upgrading?.. will I benefit from it?

Many Thanks in advance

Re: Upgrade Question...

2.1.1 is a development version on the way to final version 2.2. This version is not for production sites, it just for testing and bug fixing.

The current upgrade is 2.0.10 that has some security improvements over 2.0.9.2 including a fix for the Avitar upload vunerability.

HTH.

Hi, FruityB:

Of course, you should decide what you want to do with your site, but I'm not sure that jdseymour was advocating that you not install the most recent update- 2.0.10. That is different from 2.1.1. the current and newest stable release is 2.0.10 and it does have some good security improvements, it is ready for production sites, and you should NOT lose data in the upgrade. jdseymour, jump in here if you want, but I suspecct that you would encourage the update to 2.0.10?

Re: Upgrade Question...

Chappy is right. The security issues alone make it worth upgrading to 2.0.10.

Re: Upgrade Question...

I have 2.0.10RC2...How do I go about upgrading that, I only see upgrades for full versions?
edit: got it, nevermind
