I tried to install the AMS mod but something went wrong and it just said module file not found. So I tried to uninstall it but I just get a blank page and when I return to the module admin page the module still appears there (well it says module file not found still)
Anyone know how I can remove this? Everything seems to be working, but its just annoying having that entry in the module list. Thx

This is my #1 pet peeve with XOOPS and so far, noone seems to have come up with a satisfactory fix for it. Apparently, the only way to do it is to go into MyphpAdmin and manually remove all the entries for the faulty module from the tables.

I've tried to do this myself but cannot find the table entries.

Also, apparently the main reason for the fault occuring is that some of the submitted modules do not have the xoops_version.php file in the top level folder. These modules should be vetted for this b4 being allowed to be added to the repository for download as it's catching out alot of newbies.

Xoops is an excellent app otherwise but this particular prob is a pain in the six.

go in the phpmyadmin and remove all your tables..normaly they are called xoops_ams or something like that for that module!
nnemesis what`s the module that you have problems with it ? maybe i can help and tell you exactly what tables are you looking for...
if you wwant just to get ridd of not showing that module in system admin..also use phpmyadmin
browse the table:xoops_modules
the name of the module that is not working should be there!
delete it and will not appear in system admin!
normaly you should delete his tables too for fast working of the database ,but there are some modules that when you uninnstall them automatic removes the tables so you have just to remove the module from the table xoops_modules with phpymyadmin!
p.s:i think he didn`t find the module because you did not upload corectly the files of the module ams!
they should be uploaded in the root path of XOOPS modules
also the zipped file after you dezarchived the name of it is :ams_2.41 if you upload with that name will get for sure your error!you have to change the module name simple to AMS instead of ams_2.41 in your root path of your XOOPS modules directory!hope that helps...

Excellent stuff, Catalin! I followed your instructions and went to the xoops_modules table. In there I could see the problem modules because their "name" field was empty. I just deleted those entries and they have now gone from my Module Admin page.

Tks very much, Catalin. You are the only person on this entire board that has actually taken the time to explain this to us. WTG, mate :)
