Why do thumbs & intermed pics in xcGallery look like sh**?

I'm running XOOPS 2.09x and GD lib (tried both versions). Images look fine on hard drive, but dark, or washed out and grainy in thumbs and intermediate pix.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Doing that rt now, but I've been having a devil of a time getting Imaga Magick to work properly.

Error 126 or 127 or "directory is not writable", still haven't figured out what's up. Any ideas?

Hiya,

Already tried GD2, the thumbs/intermediates remained the same. Now it could be that the pics that were uploaded while I still had GD1 selected in admin prefs will stay the same no matter what I do, just new uploads will improve, but I'm not certain.

That?s correct. Only the new uploads will improve.
The same happend to me.

If i?m not wrong there isn?t a "re- generate thumbs" on xcgal.
If i?m correct that functionis availble on myalbun.

you should normaly delete and then reupload the photos that you allready uploaded with gd1 if you change it now and the pics where uploaded gd1 will not affect the pics!so you must reupload them!
more exactly upload an new pic that is not in your hosting and see the result with gd2,if you like it delete the pics with gd1 and batch upload them again with gd2!
logicaly the new ones will be improved!np

Pity xcGal seems to be losing it's dev tho', it's been a fav...

Agree.......it?s my favorite too.
Well it?s up to us to promote a kind of adoption.

xcgal is using an coppermine standalone version !
the version from the site is an beta version and need to be debbuged else get some errors after installation!
coppermine is an very good gallery normaly someone should integer it in an xcgal better version with no bugs...
the latest version is cgg 1.3.3 and the beta of xcgal is using 1.0.0 ...normaly will be an better xcgal version in the next future with the latest coppermine and no bugs!
anyhow you can use cgg 1.3.3 standalone and to put an block on main site with random image display...till someone integer the latest coppermine version in xcgal!
