I know there is a BBCode for placing scripture verses on the forums (just downloaded it and will play later), however, I'm wondering if anyone has considered creating a full-blown mod that not only displays verses, but allows for searches, provides various free-domain bible versions like KJV, ASV, etc.

It would be a welcomed mod, that's for sure.

Okay, someone want to give me some inside lessons on how to create a XOOPS mod and I'll give this a shot myself! Doing a simple KJV text db shouldn't be that hard, so what I need to know is how to bring it together with Xoops.

I know of one XOOPS-powered web site that is offering an online Bible download. You can find their site on this page. It's in the Non Music section.

It's a pretty good module with a little room for improvement, but not too much. Whoever put it together put a lot of work into it. Maybe you should send him an e-mail.


There's also an ongoing project at the XOOPS Developer site. I'm not too sure what the status is, though.
