I've browsed the forums here for two days now and tried out various suggestions for getting the IP of forum posters. I just switched from a php-nuke site to a XOOPS site, and so went from phpbb to newbb. so far, in general, there's better administration options, except for getting the IP of a forum poster. i had newbb1 and upgraded to newbb2, and that went fine. i can hover over the forum poster's name and get an IP. problem is, it's only the LAST OCTET. i.e. 0.0.0.24 that doesn't help me too much. i've tried a few other suggestions in these forums and tried googling with no success. i did find a hack to get the IP for who's online members and track that with anonymous nad whatnot, which is a nice feature. but that doesn't help me one bit with how to get more than the last octet for a forum poster's IP address.

any help is MUCH appreciated.

it's actually the first octet that i see, but it's displayed as 0.0.0.24

Does it always work in this way or it happen to act like this?
