Hello,
I am a newbie and am hoping someone can help. Does anyone know if you can show the users realname in the news posts?. I want to swap the username for their realname?. If so what file do I edit and where?.

In the News 1.3 module (which you can get from the XOOPS Development Forge website), this is possible.
