What modules to use ?

Hi,

new to xoops, and loving it so far !!

I am overwhelmed by the choice of modules available, but am unsure of the best to use for the following.

1) Directory : I need to make a directory of universities, their address, telephone number and a bit of info about them.

2) What's on : I need a calender type module where we can post events.

Try xDirectory for the directory (duh! ) and piCal for calander. I also agree, the shear number of modules is no doubt overwhelming for the beginner.

AMEvents
piCal
extCal
Tinyevent
AgendaX
(all except AgendaX you can test on my Modules Proving Ground easy - from user-side and admin side, if you want).

I have gone for pical and xdirectory (imagine, I was searching under "D" for directory, next time i will look under "X" )

They both look good and do what i want, thanks !!!
