Thank you for your response.
Hardcoded the path
http://mysite/images/logo.gif, edited the
system_siteclosed.html for placement of the gif on the right side, and I got the image to show correctly.
And while this works, what I do not understand is why the original tag did not.
Obviously, someone expected to work in that circumstance or they would not have coded it that way. At one time it might of worked, assuming someone had tested it, and got the results they expected.
Hope this solution helps someone else in the community.
