I once installes XOOPS over a database and tables were created under the "xoops" prefix. After a few months, an administrator destroyed XOOPS and I can't install it again because at the end of the installation can not create any new tables, and displays that Xoops2 tables are already exist in my database. I changed the "xoops" prefix with "oops" to test the installation, and setup continued and finished. The bad thing is that all my information were in "xoops" tables, and I don't know how to make XOOPS not to see the tables with the "oops" prefix but the old ones. Through phpmyadmin I can't rename or overwrite the new tables, there must be something I can do. Pls if it is something simple, let me know. I forgot to tell you that the site I have the trouble with is not mine and I have a major problem...

Thank you in advance

Hi Costas,

You can change the prefix in the mainfile.php file of the latest XOOPS installation. Edit it so that the XOOPS prefix changes to 'oops'.

Probably you will need to download the file first, edit it, and upload the file again. Afterwards, make sure you set the file permissions to read-only again (444 on unix).

HTH,

Martijn

If your tables are in the database and intact, you don't need to run the install script. Just edit mainfile.php with the information for the existing prefix and database, as well as the physical and virtual path to your site and your done.

HTH.
