im trying to have my homepage a NON MODULE like modding index.php with HTML code, but it does not follow the template well, is there a way i can do this?

Don't modify index.php!

It's a LOT easier that that (and you may ruin your site):
- set default startup module to 'none' and use (custom) blocks to show on startpage only. That's how we do it here at xoops.org.
