Hi, and thanks for reading!

Just startet snooping around with XOOPS and it works great.

Thing is that i will use XOOPS private for my family, and it gets a bit confusing.

1. We have general Apache password
2. We have user/pass at Gallery(gallery.menalto.com)
3. We will have user/pass at XOOPS

Im trying to work out how to integrate these things, but i think my family need to type several passwords.

What WOULD Help was if i were to make a CLEAN XOOPS login page, with no other menus and modules, that would be the 1.st page the users would see, and from the main XOOPS page would be able to navigate further.

How to make a clean XOOPS login page? Ive tried to find the place where XOOPS calls for the login and make a page, but still no luck completing it.

Thanks for all feedback (i hope)

Good question.

That can be easily done by CLOSING your site and then only allowing registered users to login.

You can also edit the opening msg on this page.

Have Fun!

If I understand you correctly all you need to do is go to Admin > System module > Blocks

Scroll down to find the block you want to remove from your main page, click Edit and go to the line item: "Visible in" to select which pages you want that particular block to appear in. Deselect those that pages you don't want the block to show up on.

I think I read somewhere that you shouldn't select every item in addition to the All Pages item.

BTW- there is no problem with closing your site...

It will give you JUST the login page, like you desire, and it makes sense since you are trying to run a secure family site.

You just need to edit the front msg and wll will be just as you need.

Regards,

Thanks a lo hyperpod! I never event tried that, i believed that no login page would show.

That was real easy!

Any ideas on how to "share" a login for XOOPS and Menalto Gallery -- so the users didnt have to login twice?

Thanks again! That really saved my day (and week!)

I am not familiar with Menalto, but would you need to password protect it? If it's embedded in your site, no one can see the pages (or find any links to the pages) without being a registered member...

just an idea. T

No, sharing logins between to completely unrelated apps is *almost* impossible, and certainly not fun... would need to hack something, generally...

If there is a way with the gallery, then im not aware of it.

Personally, I would drop that gallery and install www.XOOPSGALLERY.org .

I know it would mean moving over the photos, but in the end I beleive it would be worth it AND elimante the double login...

xoopsgallery is one of the best XOOPS modules out there for managing photos... its even based on the original Gallery app.

I use it alot.

Cheers,

Jeah, youre right - xoopsgallery is the best way to go.

Problem is that it lack some features, and -- the biggest problem is probably that i need to move 4200 (!) pictures and thumbnails

Thanks for all the feedback!
