Registered users can now submit a new artist.

I added some fields to the artist profile:

It is now:

Artist/Group Name
Image URL (image upload next)
URL
Location
Members (names if is a group)
Description

For now the link to add a new artist is on the index page.
I will prolly add this to the submenu.

Still gotta make a few tweaks, like making the description use XOOPS codes

Next im gunna add XOOPS comments for each profile (almost done)

Also Notifications will be added.

these will be:

-Notify me when my profile gets published
-Notify me when a new artist is added to the database
-Notify me when a profile is updated.
-Notify me when a new track is added per artist
-Notify me when a new event is added per artist

So far so good, check it out:

more to come soon...

This is some really excellent work. I can't wait until I'm this quick. It is great to see a module built step by step, keep the updates coming.

This looks most excellent. Although, if all this could be duplicated for venues, listeners, labels, etc and placed all within the same module (not clones). Then there could be some useful interaction between these different profile types. The ability to create new profile types within the admin would be nice.

Thanks again for your efforts!

What do you mean about profile types?

The other options for venues, listeners , and labels means alot more work. After the base artists module is done, then these things could be added.

The biggest problem in getting software projects done is overblowing the scope. When the scope is to big, things just simply will not get done or get done hastily.

Ok, got the add and edit features done... you can test them on www.hyperpod.net and they do require registration, so the system knows to allow you to edit the profile.

Also, languages features are being added from the base up so this module will be possible to translate in all languages.

JasonMR has agreed to do the German translation when its time.
(Thanks JasonMR!)
Doors has agreed to do the Japanese translation
(Thanks doors!)

We need translators for the other langs as well, particularly:

Portugese, French, Italian and any other language that will be needed.

Let me know, send me your email, and I will contact you when the translations are ready to be done.

Best Regards,

Hi guys,

I have developed a xoops2 Module at

http://webmusic.homerecording.de/ (only german, sorry...)

It is not an artist presentation site, but rather a collaboration system, allowing users to make music together via Internet. You can found a new project, users can apply to it.
The core of the module is a shared folder with subfolders, accessible via a web filemanager or a Java Tool, allowing upload and synchronisation of whole directories.

(At the moment, it´s working fine, but not successful, because the will for long-term collaboration via Internet is quite weak or people prefer the old e-mail way... :( )

Anyway, I´m very interested in the results, because I would like to use your system to present the (few) projects who get finished at webmusic.

Keep up the work!

greetings
Michael Kißling

You didnt upset me

I was just curious about what profile types meant...

did you mean like maybe having a profile for a venue, fan or label?

that might actually be a good thing...

right now, the profile is aimed toward an artist...

I will think about adding other profile types.

I also just wanted to explain about overdoing the scope... once the module is at 1.0 I think we can maybe add other profile types.

this is looking good :) thanks Daniel :)

i also think it's a good idea to do this in stages, as it's gonna be a pretty functional module it's a good idea to just lay the basics down 1st and get it working as it should and then add the extra features as it progresses along..

after this weekend i'll register on your site and keep checking it out :) i don't expect me to be in a fit state to do anything tonight or 2morro as it's my 30th birthday on the 27th so my m8's have got somethin planned and they won't tell me what.. lol
