I have a site that is running a XOOPS 1.0 core.
I want to update to the new version.

Do I have to do all the sequential updates ( 2.0.5 to .7 to .9 ) or can I just update to the most recent version?

It seems I can just update to the most recent version but I wanted to check.

Thanks

You should do a forum search for this as it has been asked before.

My understanding (as I never used version 1) is upgrade to 2.0.6, 2.0.7, then 2.0.7 to 2.0.9.2.

Like I said search and make sure, and of course full backup before you do anything.

Good luck.

Since upgrading with such a big leap is always tricky, I suggest the following procedure:

1. make a backup of all the files and the database
2. setup a test site using the backup files, so you have an identical copy of your site
3. download and unpack the latest stable version, not the upgrade, but the full version
4. overwrite all your files with the new version
5. run the installer by going to your testsite's root url. The installer has a built in updater for 1.x sites. It'll detect the tables in the database (if you fill in the correct information during setup), and upgrade these to the 2.0.x structure.
6. Test if it works

Thanks for the Help. :)

I did do several searches on the site and didn't find the answers I was looking for.

It's always good to clarify.
